My family went on vacation without me – and it was friggin’ GREAT!

Maybe at the beginning of COVID quarantine you began to love the scaling back of ‘shit to do’.

The “doing less”…

Maybe there was more quiet in your life…

I’m not gonna bullshit you & say everything’s been COVID-hunky dory over here in LiddyLand.

I’ve been scared & upset & flat out terrified –

But also – I’ve been quite happy to NOT run around, circling the city with errands, appointments, drop offs, pick ups, etc. etc. etc..

Quarantining made me ask myself, “What the HELL was I SO BUSY DOING?”

I promised myself as we all went back to ‘normal’ that I wouldn’t let it get like that again.

NO 8:30am meetings.

NO running from coffee to meeting to session to appointment.

No overspending eating out every night because I’m so dagnabbit tired by the end of the day.

OH NO.

Things where gonna be different!!

But – there’s a pull. I’m getting back to some old habits.

I wanna put the breaks on – but I feel the newly-found peace & cleared-out schedule slipping away.

THEN!!

My family went away on a two-week cross-country vacation.

WITHOUT ME.

I highly recommend this.

(PS: I had ZERO desire to go on a car trip for 14 days. HELL no. Hard PASS. So they went without me.)

AND it’s AMAZING to be in my house, alone.
To be able to THINK. Just BE.

When people have found out that I’m alone for 2 weeks, they flat out say, “OMG I’m so jealous.”

I get it. I’d feel the same way –

Two weeks alone in my house is a luxury I’m sure most of us won’t get…but maybe YOU haven’t even had a freaking afternoon to yourself.

And I’m not telling you this to rub it in – I’m telling you this because I FEEL LIKE MYSELF AGAIN for the FIRST TIME IN FIVE MONTHS>

This month I’m talking about the ways we keep ourselves from growing our business and creating a life and business we don’t need to escape from.

If you haven’t had some time to just BE…I bet you’re a little pissed off at me right now because I’ve got two weeks of it.

It’s ok – you don’t need two weeks. But you DO need some time with yourself.

Are you simultaneously struggling with wanting to get back to some kind of normalcy –

AND ALSO mourning the fact that you’re missing some of the peace & quiet that came with quarantine?
