The Biggest Reason You Don’t Get Things Done?


If you aren’t getting things done, it’s because you don’t have enough time. It’s not that you aren’t capable. It’s not that you don’t know how. It’s that time is just slipping away.

The Pomodoro Technique

I didn’t invent the technique, but it’s an incredible way to get your time back. This technique has you working for blocks of time doing a specific task, and then you give yourself a five-minute break. You physically get up and walk away from what you were doing. Then when you return to your work, you do it for the full time that you have allotted. Turn off your notifications. No phone. No email notifications. Nothing.

Distractions are Everywhere

The recommended time block at the beginning is 24 minutes. You probably haven’t worked for a solid 24 minutes in one sitting in a long time.

But it’s not your fault!

There are a ton of things demanding our attention. The kids, the dog, your co-workers, notifications… the list goes on and on. So it’s time to take note of what external distractions are coming in. It’s something that you have to train yourself and the people around you to respect your need for a lack of distraction.

Turn Off Your Mind

The brain has to be trained! It’s going to be hard to start this journey. It’s hard to turn off our minds to focus on what task. You’ll find yourself wanting to distract with Instagram or check your email.


Train yourself to push through these moments! Don’t beat yourself up if you slip up. Any new habit takes time and effort to master. I want you to be about to master your time! I want you to accomplish the goals that you put out there at the beginning of 2019! Try this method and let me know how your productivity goes this week!
