Realistic Tools For Growing Your Business
I stand by my platform which is that we can’t accomplish our goals if we don’t have time. We need to have time and manage our mind before we can make our goals a reality.
Last week, I made a mistake. I ended up using a tool of my friend’s in my Mastermind Group. She reached out to me, asking if I had used it without permission, which I had. I haven’t thought to call her. I hadn’t thought to ask permission. Instead of simply messaging her back on Facebook, I arranged to have a phone call.
I wanted to act on it right away. I...
The #1 place my clients tell me they feel confused? Hands down - where their time goes.
Where the hell DOES our time go? After all - we’ve had lots of practice with managing our time. We’ve been doing it most of our lives!
So why is managing our time so hard to keep track of?
It’s ridiculous, right?
Do you ever say, “There’s not enough time to get my shit done?”
Or, “I have no idea where it all goes”?
Join the club! By the time clients get to me, they have NO IDEA why they have no time.
Some of them shrug and say, “I’m just a...
I get asked all the time “How can I stay motivated?” At the beginning of any projects or time of life, it’s really easy to be motivated because it’s really exciting! Still, around the middle, we start losing steam for a variety of reasons.
For those of us that have goals and are always moving forward, we can get stuck in we have to do it better and we have to do more. This week, a member of my Facebook Group caught me off guard asking what I had accomplished this last year. Again, I’m someone that is always trying to go...
Sometimes when I call my eleven-year-old son Jack out on something he did that’s off-brand for him or out of bounds, he insists, “But I didn’t KNOOOOOWWWW, Mom.”
You can go ahead & mentally insert his little irritated sigh & eye roll at me here.
He uses confusion as his excuse. Like I’m supposed to absolve him of the transgression because he insists he didn’t know the rules, the expectation, or the requirement.
I used to do it as a kid, too. Claim I didn’t understand something - or used an unclear communication from my parents as a way to...
Nurse-turned-entrepreneur Gwen Crossett learned how to build a business WHILE building a business. Think you can't do it? She says if she can, YOU can!
At the beginning of her career, Gwen started out pursuing becoming a Master’s level Social Worker, but still desired to become a Registered Nurse. While working at an Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital, she realized that becoming an R.N. was her calling rather than continuing down the social worker path. After taking a break to devote some time to being a mom to her kids, Gwen went back to school. She surpassed...
Here’s a throwback…
Did you ever re-read favorite books when you were a kid? Mine were Beverly Cleary’s books, and I loved her character Ramona Quimby.
Ramona’s teacher asks her to “sit here for the present” on the first day of first grade.
She takes “sit here for the present” literally and desperately wants the gift! She refuses to leave her chair for any reason for hours. It’s terrible for her.
Squirmy & squirrely, she dives into deep mental negotiations about whether it’s worthwhile to just…sit.
My experience being...
I have to admit…
I was an uncool 80s kids because I couldn’t have Jordache jeans. Certainly not Guess? jeans either. Nor was I allowed clogs or parachute pants.
Can you believe that shit? My parents - with four kids & no money - had ZERO time for my nonsense.
They didn’t get that my reputation DEPENDED on these things!
I mean, Maaaaaaahhhhhhhmmmmm, come ON! People are gonna think I’m uncool, poor, and not worth spending time with.
The irony is, it was me who thought I was uncool, poor, and not worth spending time with. That’s where the problem really...
It’s right before christmas, and I know you have a lot to take care of. I’ve seen a lot of posts from women, worry about all the details. Whether the gifts will get their in time, that their christmas cards aren’t done yet, that not everything is planned out. The list goes on and on. But I want to ask you one thing…
What is the gifts got there late? The cards show up on January 20th? Are you killing yourself to make something happen? Are you killing yourself with perfection?
If you sent me a Christmas card, I...
Tyler is the face of Nostalgia Chocolates, while his wife Tiffany works a little more behind the scenes. Together they are an amazing “power” couple, but that doesn’t mean they don’t face challenges along the way. During my interview with Tyler, we discuss how what led him to want to start his business, and how he and his wife managed to communicate with each other along the way.
He was working in his family’s business and found himself getting caught up in the dynamics, and thinking about “Where do I go from here?” Still, there...
A reminder during this busy time of year:
It’s OK to give yourself that thing you’ve been wishing someone else would give you.
Be your own hero and give yourself what you want.
Make it happen!
What will you gift yourself?
It would be a gift to me if you replied to let me know…
